About the Journal

Aims and Scope

The Journal of Research in Education Sciences is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal dedicated to advancing and disseminating high-quality research in educational sciences. Published continuously since 2010 by ASERS Publishing, it provides a scholarly platform for researchers, academics, educators, practitioners, and policymakers interested in the theoretical, methodological, institutional, and practical dimensions of education.
The journal adopts a broad and interdisciplinary perspective, recognizing the connections between education and psychology, sociology, philosophy, economics, technology, culture, and public policy. It welcomes original and innovative research that advances theoretical understanding, methodological development, empirical knowledge, and evidence-informed educational practice, with implications for educational policies, institutions, teaching and learning, and lifelong human development.
The journal covers a wide range of topics, including educational theory and philosophy, pedagogy, curriculum, teaching and learning, assessment and evaluation, educational psychology, teacher education and professional development, educational management and leadership, educational policies and reforms, higher and adult education, lifelong learning, inclusive and special education, guidance and counselling, career development, comparative and international education, and digital and technology-enhanced education.
Particular attention is given to emerging challenges and transformations in education, including digitalization and artificial intelligence, changing approaches to teaching and learning, evolving professional competencies, educational inequalities, social inclusion and equity, student and teacher well-being, leadership and governance, sustainability, global citizenship, intercultural education, and the changing relationship between education, society, technology, and the labour market.
The journal welcomes diverse methodological and epistemological approaches, including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods studies, theoretical and conceptual contributions, systematic and critical reviews, methodological research, and comparative studies. Submissions should demonstrate conceptual clarity, methodological rigor, transparency, appropriate analytical approaches, and a clearly articulated contribution to the existing literature.
The journal particularly encourages comparative, cross-cultural, cross-national, interdisciplinary, and multidisciplinary research addressing education in diverse cultural and socioeconomic contexts. Contributions connecting education with related disciplines are welcomed when they provide coherent and substantive insights into educational phenomena.
A central objective is to strengthen the relationship between rigorous research and educational practice. Studies generating evidence relevant to teachers, educational leaders, institutions, policymakers, and other stakeholders are especially valued, particularly research contributing to educational quality, effectiveness, accessibility, equity, innovation, and sustainability.
The Journal of Research in Education Sciences is committed to academic quality, research integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct. All submissions undergo rigorous peer review and are evaluated for originality, scholarly significance, theoretical grounding, methodological soundness, clarity, and contribution to educational sciences.
The journal seeks to serve as an international forum for the development, dissemination, and critical discussion of educational knowledge, fostering innovative, inclusive, equitable, and future-oriented approaches to education.

Treatment of copyright in the digital environment is evolving at an unprecedented rate. Copyright exists to protect the rights of an owner of an original piece of work by imposing restrictions on reuse, but it does not always fit well with how we use and share information in the digital sphere.

From Volume I, Issue 1(1), Summer 2010 to Volume XIV, Issue 2(16), Summer 2023 the publishing license was under the Copyright Agreement, an exclusive license of ASERS Publishing. To provide gold open access, this journal has a publication fee (Article Publishing Charge - APC) which needs to be met by the authors or their research funders for each article published open access. This ensures your article will be immediately and permanently free to access by everyone. APCs enable the long-term stability of our program, and facilitate equal opportunity to seek, share and create knowledge that benefits all society without restriction.
